One day I had a strange call on my phone. I picked it up and it was his wife. She said, Young woman, do you know the man youre with is married? I responded, Yes, I know. She said, Oh you know and youre still going around with him? I didnt have an answer for her so I hung up. The question that kept ringing in my ears was, How did she get my number?

I called Kyei and asked him that question. He said his wife came home out of nowhere and when he wasnt looking, she picked up his phone, ran to the bedroom and locked the door to go through his private chats. Well, the answer didnt sit well with me so I probed until he went on a rant about how bad the marriage was and how his own mother and the lady were conspiring to make life hard for him, then kept telling me to stay calm because he was in control and knew what to do.

I asked, You dont want this marriage. Everything about it is giving you diarrhea so why dont you divorce her? He told me according to his lawyer, they couldnt divorce when the marriage was less than two years old so I should be patient with him.

When you catch Kyei doing something wrong today, the next day he would start showering you with good things just to make you forget about the problem: Ive booked a flight for us this Saturday. First, he told me to quit my job and stay home because he didnt want me attracting attention at the office. He said he would pay my salary every month and also set up a business I could run from home.

I agreed and quit my job.

He rented a larger apartment for me and set up the business as promised. He was extremely involved during my pregnancy. He took me to antenatal appointments, sent money, and bought things I didnt even ask for just to make me comfortable. That man put me in a position where I often wonder if any other man could match it. Beyond the material things, he was fully committed to me through it all. He even moved in with me after getting the bigger apartment.

His wife came across my TikTok post where I was wearing one of the matching shirts Kyei bought for us. After her first call, she thought we had broken up, but when she saw the TikTok post and realized Kyei had the same shirt, she knew we were still together.
