A Nigerian human rights lawyer, Maduabuchi Idam, has taken a bold step against the ongoing Big Brother Naija reality show.
The legal mind accused the show of serving as a pipeline for explicit and indecent content.
TheTalk.NG recalled that the season 10 of the reality star premiered on a double-day launch.

At the launch, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announced a new twist to the prize money for the reality show.
However, in a petition addressed to the Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Idam demanded that the show be either banned or heavily restricted in line with the NBC Act of 1999.
He believed the show had lost its entertainment value and now feeds viewers a steady diet of real-time p*rn*graphy, with little regard for public decency.
According to the lawyer, the current seasonnow in its second weekhas already featured brazen obscene displays that would make even previously banned music videos look tame.
In his words:
Im outraged that not only is this programme aired on national TV, its profane content is also proudly shared on the verified social media handles of the host companyin total disregard to public morality.
Idam argued that if NBC could ban music videos like Dont Stop by Olamide and Tesojue by Reminisce for indecency, then its confusing why BBNaija is still being given a free pass.
No moral value, no Lessons Idam
The lawyer didnt stop at just complaints. He issued a 30-day ultimatum to NBC to take meaningful action by either banning the show or placing it on highly restricted platformsaway from children and uninterested viewers.
He stated:
The show offers no educative, artistic, scientific, or literary value. If NBC fails to act, Ill be forced to drag the matter to court.
He also expressed deep concern that unregulated shows like BBNaija contribute to the erosion of moral values in Nigerian society, especially among the youth.

To a large extent I agree, they need to regulate the contents. I dont understand how toxicity, fights and negative behaviours n tendencies are seen as content, its damaging our young minds.
