Netflix has published a new photo of the crew of the Going Merry in the upcoming second season of their live-action adaptation of the legendary manga/anime One Piece.
At the same time, theyve teased something coming for the upcoming One Piece Day celebrations which run next weekend (August 9th-10th) in Tokyo with the big events taking place on Sunday. Speculation is high about a teaser trailer and/or date announcement.
The new shot shows off the core Straw Hat crew including I�aki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.
The new run was shot across the back half of 2024 and through until February this year in South Africa with the episodes aiming to go to air sometime in the first half of 2026.
The third season cast is packed and will include Joe Manganiello as Crocodile/Mr. 0, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday/ Nico Robin, Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday/ Princess Vivi, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Clive Russell as Crocus, Callum Kerr as Smoker and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra among many others.
The series is written and executive produced by Steven Maeda (The X-Files) and Matt Owens (Agents of SHIELD), with Owens and Joe Tracz as showrunners. Owens is stepping down from the show after this season.
