Jimmy
Former Riverdale leading man KJ Apa has signed on to star as iconic actor James Stewart in Jimmy, a new biopic about the Its A Wonderful Life stars rise in Hollywood and military service. Aaron Burns directs from a script by Justin Strawhand.
Also onboard are Jason Alexander as Louis B. Mayer; Max Casella as Frank Capra; Sarah Drew as Hedda Hopper; Julian Works as Second Lieutenant Martinez; and Jen Lilley as Stewarts wife Gloria. Filming begins in Ireland next month for a November 2026 cinema release. [Source: Variety]
Im Glad My Mom Died
Filmmaker Jason Reitman has reportedly abruptly exited the Jennifer Aniston-led Apple TV+ series adaptation of Jennette McCurdys memoir Im Glad My Mom Died just days before filming was to begin.
The departure of Reitman (Saturday Night) reportedly stemmed from mounting creative clashes with McCurdy who is showrunner alongside Ari Katcher. Tensions culminated during a contentious casting session and within days he walked. Producers now have less than two weeks to secure a director. [Source: Variety via WOR]
Harry Potter
A lavish audio production of the Harry Potter novels, titled Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions, has revealed its key cast with the works translated into Dolby Atmos tracks with original music and sound effects.
The cast will star Hugh Laurie as Dumbledore, Matthew Macfadyen as Voldemort, Riz Ahmed as Snape, Michelle Gomez as McGonagall and Cush Jumbo as the narrator. The production has a total of more than 200 speaking roles with the first audio book arriving November 4th on Audible.
Invasion
Apple TV+ has premiered the official trailer for the third season of Invasion which returns August 22nd. In season three, perspectives collide as the series main characters are brought together to work as a team on a critical mission to infiltrate the alien mothership. Golshifteh Farahani, Shioli Kutsuna, Shamier Anderson, India Brown, Shane Zaza, Enver Gjokaj and Erika Alexander star.
