The 73-year-old was approved by a narrow 50-45 vote, overcoming sharp opposition from congressional Democrats who slammed President Donald Trumps decision to nominate her for the post. Before her high-profile television career as a co-host on Fox News The Five, Pirro spent decades in public service. She served as a prosecutor in Westchester County for 15 years, beginning as an assistant district attorney and later elected as a judge in 1990. In 1993, she made history as the first woman elected district attorney in the county.
Pirro has built a reputation as a tough-on-crime prosecutor and a vocal defender of conservative causes. In fact, in response to the DC Police Union congratulating her on X, Pirro responded, Thanks to the DC POLICE UNION we will work together to clean up DC.
