Elon Musk has confirmed that Tesla has signed a long-term contract with Samsung Electronics to supply semiconductors worth $16.5 billion. According to data from the regulatory filing, the contract entered into force on July 26, 2025, and runs until the end of 2033, CNBC reported.
Samsung did not name the contracting party in the documents, citing trade secret protection, but Musk confirmed the partnership in a post on the X network (formerly Twitter). According to his announcement, Samsungs new giant factory in Texas will be dedicated to producing Teslas next-generation AI6 chip.
Tesla will actively assist in optimizing production, and I will personally tour the production lines to accelerate progress, Musk wrote, adding that the contract could be worth more than the originally announced amount.
Samsung shares rose by more than six percent immediately after the announcement, reaching their highest level since September 2024.
