Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Movie is Now Fastest Film in Japan to Hit 10 Billion Yen
by
The first of three Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movies just had its second weekend in Japan, where it was no. 1 again, and that should come as no surprise given the record it already broke. According to the latest box office update, the anime film hit the 10 billion yen mark in just eight days, making it the fastest film to reach the milestone.
As of now, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is the 29th highest grossing film in the history of the Japanese box office, already placing it above 1993s Jurassic Park. It currently sits at a mighty 12.87 billion yen, which adds up to roughly US$87.03 million with 9.1 million tickets sold. It still has a couple billion left to catch up to the hottest film of the year, Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback, but it should have no problem doing so.
Previously, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train passed the 10 billion yen mark in the first 10 days of release.
The Demon Slayer anime continues to be directed by Haruo Sotozaki, with Akira Matsushima as character designer and chief animation director and Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina on music.
Once the three movies are out, that will finish the Demon Slayer anime, which has been a massive success. Crunchyroll gave this description for the movie:
