Chris Brown Sued Over Alleged Trademark Violation

The lawsuit was filed as Brown launched the U.S. leg of his Breezy Bowl XX tour in Miami on July 30. Izquierdo, the man behind Breezy Swimwear, filed the 17-page complaint in federal court, accusing Brown, Live Nation, and others of infringement. According to Izquierdo, his company has held the Breezy trademark since 2018 and launched its Breezy Bowl runway show in 2023, an event celebrating body positivity with the slogan Every Body is a Bikini Body.

Furthermore, the lawsuit claims Browns tour name and related swimwear merch, like Team Breezy bikinis and Breezy Bowl XX swimsuits, are causing confusion among fans and diluting his brands identity.

Kris Izquierdo Calls Chris Browns Tour Name Confusing

In an interview with Local 10, Izquierdo shared his mixed emotions about the situation. I was confused, he said. Im like, Should I be happy, excited, mad, angry? Its just a little unfortunate that someone with so many resources wouldnt have done their due diligence to know that. Izquierdo seeks a jury trial but is open to a fair resolution, ideally through a partnership with Brown to settle the dispute.

Additionally, his attorney, John Hoover, pointed out the coincidence that Browns tour not only shares the same name but also hosted an afterparty at LIV Nightclub, the same venue where Izquierdos Breezy Bowl allegedly took place last year.

Theres only so many words in the English language, but to pick the exact two, and choose to launch your show in the same city, even have your afterparty at the same venue where the last Breezy Bowl was held, theres a lot of overlap there that doesnt make sense, Hoover stated.

Chris Brown Tells Fans To Be Humble Over Giant Statues Complaints At His Miami Concert

As the lawsuit was brewing, Brown delivered a show-stopping performance at Miamis LoanDepot Park earlier this week. However, some concertgoers werent feeling the massive statues used as stage props, complaining they blocked their view of the stage. Breezy, never one to shy away from clapping back, took to his IG Stories to address the critics. He urged fans to be humble and appreciate the effort put into creating a memorable experience for his 20th-anniversary tour.

Other than that, PLEASE BE HUMBLE. I got 1000000 percent for yall. So let me be clear and understanding. BECAUSE I WAS ABOUT TO TURN INTO BHRIS BROWN FOR A SEC&LOVE YALL AND CANT WAIT TO SEE ALL OF YOU.

The elaborate set design, meant to celebrate two decades of his career, included larger-than-life visuals to complement his performances. However, the statues were causing so much backlash on TikTok, Brown shared hed be changing things around so that people wouldnt be faced with this issue at future shows.

On a brighter note, Browns daughter, Royalty, melted hearts with an adorable Instagram post celebrating her dads tour kickoff in the U.S. The 11-year-old shared a cute snap of the two smiling backstage, captioning it with love and pride for her fathers milestone. 20 years later daddy! #BreezyBowl, she wrote. The heartwarming moment reminded fans of Browns softer side as a dedicated father, even as he navigates the new lawsuit regarding his tours name.
