Chelsea recorded a stunning 3-0 victory over PSG to emerge champions of the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup in the United States of America on Sunday in a rampant fashion.

The Blues produced a dominant performance to brush aside the European Champions in style for their second trophy of the season.

Enzo Maresca made two changes to the side that defeated Fluminense in the semi-final with Tosin Adarabioyo, and Christopher Nkunku dropping to the bench for Levi Colwill, and Reece James slotting starting in the midfield.

Luis Enrique opted for the same team that defeated Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-final.

The Blues started the encounter with intent, and purpose with Cole Palmer’s strike in the first nine minutes flying inches wide off the post after following a lay off from Joao Pedro.

The former Manchester City star made amends in the 22nd minute to put Chelsea ahead with a low finish in the box.

Eight minutes later, Palmer added another brilliant individual effort to make it 3-0.

He became the third Chelsea player to score multiple goals in a final this century, joining Didier Drogba, and Eden Hazard.

PSG struggled to exert their style of play as Chelsea maintained a disciplined defensive shape, and pressed brilliantly to beat the European Champions to their game.

João Neves was sent off for PSG in the 85th minute for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair to compound the woes of Luis Enrique’s side.

Chelsea denied PSG the opportunity to win their fifth trophy of the season.

Enzo Maresca has now won two trophies for Chelsea in his first season after winning the Europa Conference League in May.
