Bell and Cohere have announced a partnership to provide secure proprietary AI solutions for government and enterprise customers across Canada.

Cohere will use its enterprise-grade AI solutions through Bells AI Fabric, offering government and enterprise customers advanced models and customized applications. The partnership also includes leveraging North, Coheres agentic AI platform, for customers and Bell. And Bell will be Coheres preferred Canadian AI infrastructure provider,

The companies will provide a turnkey solution for Canadian organizations that want to deploy AI capabilities.

Bells AI Fabric has four layers: a hardware and software infrastructure, including Coheres large language models (LLMs) customized for Bell to offer new capabilities for the Canadian market. AI Fabric also includes advisory, tech, and professional services, led by Ateko, Bells tech services brand that offers cloud and workforce automation for enterprise. The last layer includes consumer and business AI applications and Coheres North agentic AI. Bell says the four layers provide physical security, network security, and operational resilience.

Earlier this year, Bell announced plans to build six AI data centres in B.C. as part of Fabric. The initiative started with a data centre that went online in Kamloops, B.C., in June. Another will come to Merritt by the end of the year.
