Amaechi declared that President Bola Tinubu was never the right choice to lead Nigeria.

Naija News reports that the former Minister made the damning remarks on Wednesday in Abuja during the unveiling of the interim national executive of the African Democratic Congress ( ADC ).

The former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said he has consistently questioned Tinubus capacity to govern and warned that the present administration has failed to meet Nigerians expectations.

I have never believed that Tinubu is a material to govern the country, Amaechi declared pointedly.

He added that the current economic and security challenges have left many Nigerians longing for the return of former President Muhammadu Buhari, under whom he served as minister for eight years.

People are asking for Buhari because things were better during Buharis administration, Amaechi said.

Naija News reports that Amaechis statement comes amid his growing alignment with opposition forces working under the ADC platform to challenge the APCs hold on power ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The event also marked the formal introduction of the ADCs interim leadership, which includes prominent political figures such as former Senate President David Mark and former Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

Amaechi, who lost to Tinubu in the APCs 2022 presidential primaries, has become increasingly vocal about the direction of the country and the leadership of his former party.
