A section of the A34 is set to close every night this week.

Beginning tonight (Monday, July 28) an area of the A34 southbound is to close from 9pm to 6am each evening including Saturday, August 2.

However, it is not scheduled to close on Sunday, August 3.

The area in Oxfordshire that will shut is from just north of the Abingdon north slip road to the Marcham Interchange at Abingdon south.

National Highways stated it is for “barrier work” as well as repairs to the embankment, as it is part of a wider ongoing project that will last until the end of September.

The agency has advised that impacted traffic should use the set diversion via the A415 and the A4183, Hinksey Hill and Oxford Road.
